FAQ

Questions, answered.

Short answers about The James.

When does The James start sailing?

The first charters start on 1 June 2027. You can check dates and hold them now.

What does the price cover?

The price is for the whole boat, per day. It covers the boat, the crew and the meals. Your quote lists exactly what is in and what is extra.

How many guests can come?

The James has 3 cabins. We confirm the maximum number of guests in your quote.

When is the best time to go?

Raja Ampat is best from October to April. Komodo is best from April to November. A trip that does both works best in April, October or November.

Can we do Raja Ampat and Komodo in one trip?

Yes. It takes about two weeks, because the sea crossing between the two takes a few days. We plan stops on the way.

Can we dive?

Yes. A Dive Master is part of the crew. Tell us your certification level and we plan the dives around it. Raja Ampat is the best place for it.

Is it good for kids and families?

Yes. You have the whole boat, so the pace is yours. Tell us the ages and we plan the days and the menu.

Is there wifi on board?

Signal is weak in remote areas. We confirm the connection options for your route before you book.

How do we get there?

Fly to Sorong for Raja Ampat. Fly to Labuan Bajo for Komodo. We can help you with the transfers.

How do I book?

Use the booking form. It takes about a minute. We reply within 2 hours and send an exact quote in 24 hours. When you agree, we send the booking terms and the deposit details.

Why book direct?

You talk to the people who run the boat. You get the best price, the fastest answer and a crew that knows your plans before you arrive.

Is The James licensed to charter?

The James will hold its Indonesian charter licence before the first guest comes on board. We share the papers with agents on request.

Do you work with travel agents?

Yes. We have net rates and a 24-hour reply for agents. See the agents page.
